It seems like I've been living in warp speed lately - super busy girl, that's me - we've had a lot going on at home and at the office - I'm not complaining, I like busy. I thrive on busy. But, if something like scrapbooking (or exercising) falls off the track, its hard to get that train back into rotation.
At the office, we have meetings about big picture type stuff - being proactive - increasing productivity - systematizing everything. We reviewed a time management concept at work recently (I'm not sure what this one is called and it is usually shown as a table but I couldn't figure out how to create a table in typepad).
There are four activities in which you can spend your time:
1. Urgent and important.
2. Urgent but not important.
3. Not urgent and not important.
4. Not Urgent and important.
Think about what types of activities fall into these categories.
1. Examples: Taking your sick child to see the doctor; attending a court hearing; paying a ticket on time.
2. Examples: That 50% off sale at the craft store; responding to junk mail; watching the latest episode of the Bachelorette.
3. Examples: Surfing the web, watching soap operas (guilty).
Here's the kicker: The advice is to spend most of your time in category #4.
Excercise and Scrapbooking fall into Category #4.
Here's some evidence of my time spent in Category #4:

LOVE LOVE the framed Princesses and your daughter pages! I should do that for my girls. When we went to Disneyland I bought them a 3D character frame (one Cinderella, one Tinkerbell) to hold a picture of them with their #1 favorite.
It's funny how much time we can spend on #2 & 3 the not important ones. (Guily of watching Days of our Lives). When really #4 & 1 are the important tasks.
