I used a patterened paper with squares on the horizontal and put die cut circles into some of the squares. Then I machine stitched over the circles mimicing the tea cup cabinet in my mother in law's kitchen, I made the page before choosing the photo or story so maybe the way those circles looked like plates in cabinet helped me to pick the photo and theme, but I didn't set out to do that, it was a happy coincidence. Having the page already put together gave me a starting place.
Here is Layout #5 in my series of 7 layouts made in one 3 hour session with paper scraps, die cutters, and the theme of Places I Love.
Journaling: "Grammy's kitchen has looked basically the same since they built it in 1962 when Daddy was about 5 years old & my kids have grown up in and around this same kitchen."
